
Following much anticipation, Old Government House and Parramatta Park have been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The prestigious listing of the 11 convict sites was made early on Sunday morning Sydney time, when the United National World Heritage Council met in Brasilia, Brazil.

Barangaroo: Alternative concepts

The National Trust seeks recognition of Millers Point’s rich maritime history; construction of an iconic cruise ship terminal at Millers Point accommodating an indigenous art gallery; and removal of the hotel tower from the harbour.

Bush Regenerators Handbook - ON SALE NOW
The third edition of The National Trust of Australia (NSW) Bush Regenerator’s Handbook has just been released. The edition was revised to include updated details of occupational health and safety and environmental legislative requirements, and a section on workplace safety has been introduced. The handbook includes information on weeds of national significance and is now more relevant to broader Australia.
Strip Mining Sydney's Heritage
The Trust has completed a major submission to the NSW Minister for Planning urging that the Trust’s Urban Conservation Areas be recognised in the Local Environmental Plan and that development in the Trust’s Conservation Areas favour single residential development. The submission contained an additional five major recommendations and included case studies and important information on Ku-ring-gai’s critically endangered Blue Gum and Turpentine-Ironbark Forests, the model application, in Ku-ring-gai, of the garden suburbs planning movement and the finest examples of early twentieth century and interwar period housing.
